The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has applauded the leadership style of Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum.
The President described Zulum’s humanitarian response including the provision and distribution of palliatives for internally displaced persons in the state as “exemplary, unique and selfless”.
The Minister of State for Agriculture, Mustapha Shehuri, made this known on Wednesday while addressing Borno stakeholders at the Government House in Maiduguri, the state capital.
This was contained in a statement by the state government titled, ‘Leadership: Buhari eulogizes Zulum’.
“Mr. President specifically acknowledged the exemplary, unique and selfless style of leadership you displayed in the distribution of COVID-19 palliatives, direct cash transfer/empowerment, construction of houses for the internally displaced persons, their return to their respective places of origin with dignity, the construction of houses for civil servants, and rehabilitation of schools, the employment of 776 new teachers to join Borno Secondary schools in three weeks.
“The ongoing civil service reforms, N23. 5 million support for the bereaved families of 47 fallen soldiers killed by Boko Haram, the donation of N20 million and a house to the family of Late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako and the provision of 65 million to 8,000 widows and other persons in critical needs all marveled Mr. President,” the statement quoted the minister as telling the governor.
