TOKYO — Online retailer Rakuten’s membership base and credit card business model provided the impetus for launching the company’s new wireless service, Rakuten Mobile, chairman and CEO Hiroshi Mikitani told the Nikkei Global Management Forum in Tokyo on Wednesday.
