- What does Paul explain about hope?
Apostle Paul gave us reasons why our hope will not lead to disappointment. He also helps us to understand how our Christian hope can grow. The tips he gave can help us to recognize that over time our Christian hope has become more certain.
- Why do we need to be determined to endure any trial?
Romans 5:3 says “tribulation produces endurance.” We all must face it. So we have to learn how to endure, as that can give us joy as well as other benefits. When we are determined to endure whatever trials we may face, we will be able to see the fulfillment of our hope.
- What further point does Paul make, and why might that puzzle some?
Paul said that Christian gain Jehovah’s approval by enduring trials successfully. He was mentioning people who already had approved condition which is the “hope of the glory of God.” However, he then he told them that “The approved condition they had leads to hope, the type that doesn’t lead to disappointment.” Some may be thinking what hope was Paul talking about again, since they already had hope.
- What guarantee does Jehovah provide?
Paul includes this inspired guarantee to Christians: “The hope does not lead to disappointment; because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy spirit, which was given to us.” This is sure guarantee Jehovah provides through the holy spirit because his love has been poured out on those he approves.

How does the hope you now have differ from the hope you had when you first learned the truth?
The initial hope was appealing but it has become a much deeper and more solid Christian hope. Our confidence that we will receive the things Jehovah promised is now stronger than how it was before baptism. Our hope is more real and more personal. It affects us powerfully, influencing every aspect of your life and changing how you treat your family, how you make decisions, and how we use your time.
