Five-time Grammy Award winner Elton John rocketed to fame in 1970. Since his first hit single “Your Song,” he’s cut 35 gold and 25 platinum albums and sold over 250 million tracks worldwide. Plus, he has the best-selling single of all time.

But then, like so many stellar talents, he was able to discover and pursue his gifts early. At the age of three, he astonished his family by sitting at the piano and playing The Skater’s Waltz completely by ear. At 11, he received a five-year ride to London’s Royal Academy of Music. That was in 1959.

He began performing live in 1962 and went solo in 1969. Then, on the night of August 25, 1970, he debuted in America at The Troubadour in Los Angeles, and literally became a rock star overnight.

Elton John’s latest continental trek is in support of his new album The Diving Board and re-launches at the Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Connecticut on November 8, 2013.

Next on the slate: the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island on November 9; TD Garden in Boston, Massachusettes on November 12; and Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. on November 14.

“Since Elton John’s solo career began in 1969, he has been on tour somewhere in the world every year. And, he has performed more than 3,000 concerts worldwide,” said Marta Ault at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com. “His concerts invariably sell out, often well ahead of the event.”

“That’s why we’re proud to offer fans the most current and continually refreshed selection of concert tickets available online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase,” said Ault.

Next on the schedule: the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 23; Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri on November 24 and Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 27, 2013.

From there, the Rocket Man lands at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan on November 29 and Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois on November 30. The grand finale is set for Madison Square Garden on December 3 and 4, 2013. John then jets off for a European swing starting in Moscow on December 6, 2013.

Earlier this Fall, Elton John opened at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada starting on September 18 for a 14-show run through October 12, 2013. He also hit the ACL Live at the Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas.

Between 1970 and 1976, Elton recorded an astounding 14 albums. One of these, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road – with its hit singles “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” “Bennie And The Jets” and “Candle In The Wind” – scored an unbroken two-month run at the top of the Billboard Top 100.

On this year’s tour, Elton and his Band will be playing classic tracks from his five-decade career and songs from his newly released album.

In terms of reviews, Rolling Stone gave the new album four stars, writing: “The album is more focused than anything he’s done in years…. Perhaps the LP’s most impressive achievement is the way it returns Elton’s piano to the forefront, where it ought to be.”

Candle in the Wind 1997, Elton’s tribute to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, has sold over 33,000,000 copies, making it the best-selling single ever. Elton John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

He was knighted by HM Queen Elizabeth II for “charitable services” in 1998, and appeared at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.

In addition to his musical gifts, Sir Elton Hercules John, CBE, is among the world’s most generous entertainers. He established the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 and is Patron or Ambassador to 23 charities.
