On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Zelensky visited Belgium. He lashed out at Russian President Putin and his desire for the peace summit to fail.
On 15 and 16 June, at Ukraine’s initiative, a peace summit will be held in Bürgenstock, an Alpine summit in the Swiss canton of Nidwalden. And although Volodymyr Zelensky is looking forward to the event, he accuses Vladimir Putin of trying to “sabotage” the meeting.
During his visit to Brussels, the Ukrainian president said, “Putin is very afraid of the peace summit. He has already tried to make this summit fail and he will continue to do so.”
As Washington has still not confirmed that Biden will attend the peace summit, Zelensky stressed that the US president’s absence “would be the same as applauding Putin”.
