I Weep for These Workers Who Lost Their Jobs to ChatGPT

Before I go too deep into the short revelation, I want you to know the type of jobs that are now being given to AI rather than to people.

  1. Writing – General
  2. Copywriting
  3. Graphics artist jobs
  4. Video editing jobs
  5. Drawing

If you’re skilled in any of the above-mentioned areas, now is the time to get ready to expand your skills because these skills are now vulnerable to AI take-over.

Let me tell you my own experience in the shortest way possible. AI (ChatGPT) didn’t take my job, but I almost lost it because I was writing. One day, during the pandemic, my boss decided he didn’t want articles on the radio websites anymore.

Other staff lost their jobs too. The lock-down taught the company that they didn’t need so may workers as they had – so they let dozens go. I wasn’t affected because I know how to design websites and to add content to online portals.

I switched from being a writer to being a web administrator.

My job was safe till this day.

But the people in the Guardian story I read this morning were not that fortunate.

One of the story-tellers on Guardian said he worked with the marketing department for several months and one day, he heard the boss say “just put into ChatGPT”. Before then, he had been getting less work in the marketing department.

He lost his job.
