Anyone can strike it rich at any time. That is the story of Laiser captured below:
In an interview with the BBC, Saniniu Laizer commented his find of a lifetime with the words “There will be a big party tomorrow.” Laizer is a cattle farmer and small-scale miner from Simanjiro district in Manyara, Tanzania. Last week he discovered two 30 centimeters (almost 12 inches) large crystals of Tanzanite, one of the rarest gemstones on Earth. The two crystals, the largest ever recovered, were found in a mine in the north of the country, even if the exact circumstances of the discovery are unclear. The local small-scale mines often work in little teams or employ day-workers.
