Lagos is known for its constant explosions. In fact, hardly a year goes by without any gas or truck explosions reported. This morning, the residents of Baruwa, in the Ipaja axis of Lagos state woke up to explosions from a gas filling station around 6 am, causing a rapidly spreading fire.
Best Roof Gas Filling Station, a subsidiary of Best Roof petrol station also within the locality, is located in a densely populated area. This has affected a number of houses close to the gas station, with reports some of these homes were engulfed with fire. The fire service is currently at the location and there are no reported casualties yet.
Residents were scampering for safety when the incident occurred but there is no report on casualties yet.
