Netflix has unveiled the trailer for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, the final film starring Chadwick Boseman.
Boseman stars as ambitious trumpeter Levee in this adaptation of the play of the same name by Pulitzer winner August Wilson, while Viola Davis portrays blues singer Ma Rainey.
“Tensions and temperatures rise over the course of an afternoon recording session in 1920s Chicago as a band of musicians awaits trailblazing performer, the legendary ‘Mother of the Blues’ Ma Rainey,” Netflix’s synopsis reads.
