• US readying to provide Ukraine with air defense system – News

US President Joe Biden is set to announce that the US is providing an advanced surface-to-air missile system to Ukraine, as well as additional artillery support, according to a person familiar with the matter, in the latest assistance meant to help the country defend against Russia’s four-month invasion.

The US is purchasing NASAMS, a Norwegian-developed anti-aircraft system, to provide medium- to long-range defense, according to the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. NASAMS is the same system used by the US to protect the sensitive airspace around the White House and US Capitol in Washington.

  • 3 ways Russia lost in Ukraine before the war ends

In Ukraine, Russia has tried so many things but they’re just not working out for her.

Let’s quickly see three ways in which Russia has failed in Ukraine.

    1. Russia started in February to try and overthrow Ukraine’s president and make the country part of Russia in just 72 hours.

    This failed.

The war continues today, without any success story for Russia.

    2. He tried plan B in a way to surround Kyiv and move in on other Ukrainian cities. This too failed. Russia has only been able to seize Kherson but the people are still resisting her power.

    3. Russia has lost massively because the people she attacked didn’t only defend themselves, they fought back and inflicted heavy losses on Russian armies that they had to move back.

As Russia’s Victory Day parade draws closer, the country doesn’t have much to celebrate.

  • Ukraine brings war to Russia – Russian Civilians terrified

The war started by Russia has come back home to haunt her.

The Ukrainians have begun shelling and bombing strategic places inside of Russia.

Putin now has to do more to protect his people from being destroyed by the war he started.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has also reported that Russia is speeding up attacks in southeast Ukraine. Russia is preventing the evacuation of wounded Ukrainian fighters from a steel company located in Mariupol.

Russia’s aim is to capture these wounded soldiers.

In the US, President Biden continues to look for aid to send to Ukraine. This time, he’s looking for a $33 billion aid package. This is an emphatic resistance to Russian threats of reprisals and escalation.

  • Ukraine Central Bank bans purchase of crypto with local currency

People in Ukraine can still buy cryptocurrencies. But they can only do so with foreign currencies.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) wants to prevent capital outflows amid martial law.

Ukrainians who want to buy crypto with foreign currencies also have a limit to what they can buy. For each month, each individual can only buy up to 100,000 UAH or $3,300.

Ukraine will use this means as a way of strengthening the foreign exchange market, for the sake of easing restrictions in the future.

  • 5 reasons Ukrainian refugees are coming back home

The war in Ukraine has not ended but some of the Ukrainians who had fled the country more than a month ago, are coming back. Why are they coming back, especially to hotspots where battles are still raging.

    1. Some said there’s no place like home. For these ones, it is easy to survive in Ukraine than in a country where they can’t look for work because they don’t speak the language.

    2. Some don’t just want to be called refugees anymore. Russia didn’t win the war, and there’s no hope that it will, so they’re proud to be coming home, as the worst fears have departed.

    3. It’s been 48 days since the west warned that Kyiv had only 48 hours before it fell to the Russians. The capital is still standing.

    4. The Ukrainian front lines are now stabilized and the country itself is learning to function in a state of war, prompting the refugees to return home.

    5. For yet others, the pull of home, family, and friends is just too much.

  • Meet Ukraine’s Lady Death

As we enter the final stage of the Ukraine war’s second month, there are still war heroes who are worth talking about such as ‘The Ghost of Kyiv‘, ‘The Ukrainian Reaper’ or ‘Wali‘. This time, a woman who goes by the name of ‘Ugoliok’ (Charcoal) is taking all the headlines. The Ukrainian special forces hyped her up with a post on their official Facebook page where they tell a little bit of her story without revealing her true identity. They did post a couple of pictures of her covering her face and revealed she’s been with the Ukraine land forces since 2017. In January this year, her contract expired but she soon enlisted back when the war in Ukraine began.

  • Russia’s resort to cyber war in Ukraine

Although Russia has been slow to carry out major attacks, it has been targeting Ukraine in other ways. On 24 February, more than 10,000 modems of the satellite broadband provider Viasat were knocked offline in a hack that US officials have attributed to Russia.

Although that attack sabotaged hardware across Ukraine and is continuing, it was more likely Russia would focus its resources on cyber reconnaissance missions than forceful attacks, said Glenn S Gerstell, former general counsel of the National Security Agency and Central Security Service.

Russia’s slow cyberwar in Ukraine begins to escalate, experts say (msn.com)
