Jamaica to purchase made-in-Nigeria Innoson vehicles – Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, says Nigeria has struck a deal with Jamaica which will see the Caribbean island nation purchasing cars from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company.

PlatinumPost reports that Innoson Vehicles is one of the leading automotive manufacturers in the country and it is based in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The minister, who made this known in a post on his Twitter’s handle on Wednesday, said agreement has also  been reached  on direct scheduled air flights between Nigeria and Jamaica.

 

He said: “Returned from a very enjoyable and productive visit to Jamaica, superbly hosted and organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, my dynamic counterpart,
@kaminajsmith.

“And wonderfully supported by the equally dynamic Minister of Transportation and Mining, Robert Montague and Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett.

“Exciting potential deliverables are: the hosting in Abuja of a Joint Commission; purchase of vehicles from the Nigerian auto producer, @innosonvehicles

” Nigeria as a Satellite Centre of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCMC) and direct scheduled air flights between Nigeria and Jamaica.
