At the close of the July ratings period, WCVB Channel 5 retained its standing as Boston’s most watched station, finishing #1 sign-on to sign-off (M-Su, 5AM-2AM) in Adults 25-54, Total Viewers, and Households. NewsCenter 5 continues to be Boston’s News Leader and the station that viewers turn to for the news and information that they need and want to know at this critical time. And, WCVB remains honored to serve the community with our schedule of local programming as well as with timely and important specials like the recent “Project CommUNITY: Race Matters in Massachusetts.”
JULY SWEEP HIGHLIGHTS
- WCVB NewsCenter 5 finishes #1 in 10 of 10 newscasts throughout the day in Total Viewers and Households, and 9 of 10 newscasts throughout the day in Adults 25-54.
- WCVB NewsCenter 5 produces six of the top eight highest rated daily newscasts in Adults 25-54 (6PM, 7PM, 5PM, 6AM, Noon, and 11PM, respectively), and produces the top six highest rated newscasts in both Households (6PM, 7PM, 5PM, Noon, 11PM and 6AM respectively) and Total Viewers (6PM, 7PM, 5PM, Noon, 6AM, and 11PM respectively).
- WCVB’s Chronicle (M-F, 7:30PM), continues to attract viewers with its signature story-telling that provides a virtual escape to the best that New England has to offer. The award-winning, nightly news magazine increased viewership from a year ago across several demographics including Adults 25-54.
- ABC News’ “Good Morning America” (7-9AM) and “World News Tonight with David Muir” (6:30-7PM) continue their momentum finishing #1 in Adults 25-54, Total Viewers, and Households.
