Me: It must have been tough for you. How have you been able to sustain yourself in all of this?

You: This is the first time I will lost a person who is my family member and living in the same house with me. It has not been easy at all. This person has been there for me for years, supporting me ever since she moved in with me. We share a lot of values and have the same taste when it comes to things like music, entertainment, food, and education. So sad she’s no more here with me. But let me ask: So I will never see her again?

Me: The thought of not seeing your cousin again is really depressing but God has promised otherwise.

You: What do you mean?

Me: May I read a verse to you from the Holy Book? It promises an end to many of the things that make us sad. Revelation 21:4. (Read). What does this verse say about death?

You: It says death will be no more. So I will see her again? Really?

Me: Doesn’t that sound comforting? All those negative things mentioned are attached to death and pain. Isn’t it comforting for you to know that soon all the pain you feel now will be gone forever? For us, we know that God is not responsible for the pain and death we suffer now, and we know he will bring back our dead loved ones in the future. Would you like me to come by and show you something on the ressurection?

You: Resurrection? What’s that?

Me: That is the raising up of those dead in the grave to life. God by means of his son has promised to do that. Next when I come, I will like us to talk about this hope.

What Can We Do If We Carry persistent guilt for past mistakes?

How can we find relief from the burden of guilt?

It is only accepting Jehovah’s forgiveness that we can find relief from the burden of guilt. We can find relief if our conscience can move us to take positive steps to correct our course. 2 Cor. 7:10 talks about sadness in a Godly way that helps us to achieve a lot. That’s connected with righting the wrong mentioned in verse 17. Verse 16 explains it leads to salvation but before that, our clean conscience will have been restored and we would have put the guilt behind us.

What does it mean to have our sins pardoned? (Psalm 32:5)

The Hebrew word rendered “pardon” can mean “lift up,” “take away,” or “carry.” Jehovah, in a sense, lifted up David’s sins and carried them away. For he had been under a burden but then Jehovah lifted that burden, giving him relief from the heavy guilt that he had been carrying. For us, we can experience similar relief. When we sincerely repented, we need not continue to feel guilty because Jehovah has lifted up and carried away our sins.

What can we do if we carry persistent guilt for past mistakes?

1st Answer


If we carry persistent guilt for past sins, we can ask ourselves if it is a case of we forgetting what Jehovah remembers​—that is, I may ask myself, am I forgetting that Jehovah is mindful of my sinful nature and will forgive a repentant sinner like me? 2, I can also ask: Am I also remembering what Jehovah chooses to forget​—that is, am I remembering the sins that he has forgiven and would never hold against me?’

We can also dwell on David’s words found in Psalm 103. It will help us to accept Jehovah’s forgiveness. There the Psalmist siad he would rather concentrate on praising Jehovah and remembering His works. And Just Like David said in verse 3 and 4, Jehovah totally forgives and heals us once we truly repent. Verse 10 reminds us that Jehovah will not hold on to resentment. These verses are good for us to reflect on when we carry persistent guilt.

Why do we need to keep convincing our heart of Jehovah’s love and forgiveness?

Satan will not let up in his efforts to convince us that we are unlovable or unforgivable. It is for these reasons some have stopped serving Jehovah get us to stop serving Jehovah. When we stop serving Jehovah, we let Satan win. May that never happen to us.

What can you do to convince your heart of Jehovah’s love and forgiveness?

  1. We can apply the suggestions discussed in the preceding article.
  2. To convince your heart of Jehovah’s forgiveness, reflect on how Jehovah has described himself.
  3. We can Meditate on what he inspired Bible writers to say about his forgiveness. Do not forget that he is well-aware of your sinful nature and will deal with you mercifully. And remember that when he forgives, he does so completely.
  4. We can have the same type of confidence that David had in Jehovah’s mercy, for if we do, we’ll be able to say, “Thank you, Jehovah, for pardoning ‘the error of my sins’!”

Those that were once leaders rejected are now being picked, and those picked previously are left to be behind.

What is this world coming to?

Now, in the news just this morning I saw a title that could be as divisive as the election itself could have been; that the United States of America now has the first Muslim Mayor. A mayor is a mayor, why announce the Muslimity?

The people who picked a president are now against him. It isn’t that they don’t know him, he was there at the first time but now, they’re tired. They should have known.

This says something ominous about who is actually directing the state of affairs in the world we live in.

Today, blue is good, tomorrow red is good.

Who is truly good?

When all left is a bad pepper, people tend to look away but when people could make a pick between a bad pepper and a rotten tomato, you know what happens next.

Just when things start becoming so good in politics, thing go bad to worse. And when things start looking bad, somehow… somehow, they start looking good.

Nobody laughs last and nobody laughs first, both are subject to a fleeting moment of glory and shame. When these come is story for the gods who know how to apportion the minutes, hours and times in politics and the surrounding ‘games’ that go with it.

As one party prepares to move and snag the presidential throne next round, their own errors misgivings are constantly in front of them. Who knows how to really set the balls right?

The road to 2028 looks rough enough and both parties have something or a few things to fear about their performance and public image. Now, the future is narrowly looking brighter for one side. In politics, it doesn’t matter – for the losing side could quickly turn the table over, while the side having the other side looking helplessly. It has happened before and can happen again.

One thing is clear: the people winning today are the losers tomorrow.

It’s a common thing in Lagos. You park your car, get out, go get what you need and come back – it’s nowhere to be found!

Or sometimes those bad men put an anchor behind your car tire.

That’s what happened to me earlier today.

It’s a common thing these days but what will we do, since there’s no parking lot I know around the market place.

This is the first time this type of stuff will happen to me this year and I’m so distraught. Apart from the money the touts asked for in the name of fine, they wasted almost my whole day.

LASTMA in this state are known for these wicked deeds. Many times, they just stay around, watching you do your stuff and once you get out of the car they come pin it down.

That’s crazy!

This morning, the touts who called themselves LASTMA officials explained to me that the state is intensifying its crackdown on illegal roadside activities.

I saw in the news the other day that the touts impounded about 155 vehicles recently. It was claimed that some of the garages and motor parks in the state aren’t authorized. How would I know that?

Lagos Island is the worst. The area is overcrowded, and the guys there seem richer and can pay more for fines, hence the intensity of impounding vehicles in that locality.

They informed me that my car blocked free-flow of traffic. I looked at it again and again and saw that it wasn’t true. Other cars were parked ahead of mine, so how did I happen to commit a crime?

Up and down, down and up, I spent over four hours, as the touts were also busy locking down cars, and having no time at all to concentrate on my own case. It appeared they were well bent on making the most money on a single day. that means not concentrating on a sole offender.

One of the touts paid a little bit of more attention to my plight but he was the one who wanted me to pay more; and if I couldn’t do that, head off to the station with him.

He called it something like 24-traffic management control. Something I don’t fully understand, since I hardly see LASTMA officials past 7pm.

At the end of the day, I had spent 10k in cash to free myself but precious time had been lost and could never be regained.

When pressed by the correspondent to explain why he granted clemency to such a high-profile figure, Trump reportedly offered a definitive, almost dismissive, denial, stating he was unfamiliar with the name “Changpeng Zhao” or “CZ,” suggesting the decision was handled by aides or vetted through a standard process he did not personally oversee. This stance immediately raised eyebrows among ethics watchdogs and financial regulators, given the gravity and widespread coverage of Zhao’s case.

Zhao, who is also known as “CZ,” pleaded guilty to enabling money laundering in 2023. He served four months in prison and agreed to step down as the chief executive of Binance, the crypto exchange he co-founded. The conviction was part of an unprecedented settlement where Binance, under Zhao’s leadership, agreed to pay a staggering multi-billion dollar fine to U.S. authorities—one of the largest corporate penalties in financial history—for failing to maintain adequate anti-money laundering (AML) protocols.
